Split Rock. This was a famous landmark for the wagons on the Oregon Trail. You can see it on the horizon at the right of the picture. I started thinking... Those wagons covered 10 miles a day -- I am FLYING compared to that, at 80 miles a day... On my best day, I will cover what they would cover in half a month. And I have convenience stores, motels, Kevlar, Gore-Tex, etc. to keep me running... I am definitely NOT roughing it, I decide.
